hi there...
Hi, my name is Jackson, and I am a recent graduate of the University of *Beach City College*. I majored in Business Economics and gained strong analytical sk...
blah blah blah. Countless hiring managers and recruiters have heard me spew this crap, and it has hardly ever made a difference. Why ask me to give my elevator pitch intro if you clearly don't care because you already know that you're not gonna hire me? What I want to say is
Listen here, buddy. Give me a damn chance! I might not have the 3-5 years of experience required for this entry-level position, but I'll work harder than any mahfuhka who does!
A chance is all I need.
I'm starting this blog to write about things I'm passionate about and escape from the constant cycle of rejection due to lack of experience or specialization. Partially, I'm doing it to prove to myself that I am good at some things including writing (I'd like to think so), some hobbies that I've grown up enjoying or learned to enjoy mediocrely, and a couple practical skills that I've learned along the way. I'll talk about my amateur experiences and opinions on sports economics, surfing, fishing, technology, music, food, real estate, Microsoft Excel...ya know...usual dude stuff. From reviews to recipes to fiction, it's gonna be all over the place.
Mostly, I'm going to use this as a place to just dump my mind into words. It's so easy for me to get absolutely wrapped up in everything going on and let my mind race to a point where I'm overwhelmed and can't even keep track of what's most important. I've come to learn that journaling my thoughts forces me to slow down and be concise with my thought process to put everything into perspective.
I am healthy. I have people who love me. I have fun. Life is good.
Not sure who I'll share this with yet, but whoever you are, I hope you're inclined to follow along for more. Thanks.
